Cooking a lot of food but not eating it all often causes regret for many people, so they often choose to store it in the refrigerator for the next time. But not every kind of food can be left overnight, even if it is dangerous to your health. Let’s find out what kind of foods to avoid in the following article.


Green vegetables are a very nutritious food and should be have at every meal. We increasingly tend to consume more vegetables during meals because of the health benefits they bring. It provides the body with essential fiber and vitamins. However, when you have cooked vegetables and let them stay overnight in fridge for the next use, you are now harming your health.

The reason is because there is a lot of nitrate in cooked vegetables. After a while the bacteria will begin to grow inside the vegetable and break down this amount of nitrate to form nitrite, a substance that is very harmful and causes cancer.

And even if you boil it over and over again, it can’t be removed. Therefore, it is best not to reuse cooked vegetables leaving overnight in fidge and cook just enough to eat them all in one meal.

So how long cooked vegetables in fridge? Cooked vegetables can only be kept in the refrigerator for up to 4 – 5 hours, and make sure you put them in the refrigerator within 2 hours after cooking.

You can store boiled vegetables in a glass or porcelain bow. Cover the food with a wrap, or place it in a plastic container and store it in a fridge.


Mushrooms are similar to green vegetables, bringing essential nutrients to our health. Inside the mushroom contains a lot of nitrates and this substance is involved in blood circulation, helping the hemoglobin in red blood cells provide enough oxygen needed for the body to work.

But the nutrients of mushrooms only develop when you eat immediately after processing. Leaving the cooked mushroom overnight will cause the internal nutrients to decline rapidly, not to mention nitrate will turn into nitrite causing adverse effects that hemoglobin decomposes into methemoglobin, losing the function of providing oxygen to the body, you will be easy feeling nausea, shortness of breath and dizziness.

Proteins and nutrients in boiled eggs will help your body grow optimally. But it is also a “double-edged sword” if you leave boiled eggs for a long night, even if placed in a refrigerator, it is still not possible to ensure the contents of the egg are intact.

When boiled eggs were left at the environment with a temperature of 10 degrees C or higher, it will create favorable conditions for the development of harmful microorganisms, creating harmful agents for your stomach and intestines.
